Riding Lessons
Keep up to date on Facebook
Riding lessons are taught with a focus on horsemanship, sportsmanship and safety. We teach a basic balanced position using English tack that can take a rider in any direction.ย
Lessons will run for about 1 hour with riders averaging twenty minutes to forty five minutes in the saddle. Lessons start as private and may move to small groups. Riders will be taught to catch, groom, tack up and care for their mount, as well as riding. Weather cancellations are usually posted 1 hour prior to ride time. On occasion lessons will be unmounted and will focus on a horse management topic.ย
***Most of our general communications are posted to Facebook***
Riders need closed toe shoes with heels, long pants with no "bling" on the back and bring your chair, water, sunscreen and bugspray. Any hair barrettes, pony tail holders or clips will need to be below the nape of the neck.
While cowgirl boots and rain boots will work, if you are purchasing boots I highly recommend paddock boots or Sporto type muck/duck boots to start. Half chaps or tall boots are for those that want to commit longer term.
Well fitting ASTM/SEI certified helmets are required at all times when riding. Failure to do so may result in loss of all riding privileges.

Helpful Informationย
One of the first purchases a new rider makes is a riding helmet. Here is a link with some good information prior to purchasing.
Many riders start with a Troxel or an Ovation brand helmet as they are adjustable and affordable. Locally, you may find helmets at Tractor Supply or in Cataula, Ga at Saddle Up Tack and Feed. I personally buy and use Trauma Void helmets and have purchased them online from SmartPak.
